Executive Director of Perioperative Services, Cabell Hospital, Huntington, WV

Kelli J Brooks, RN, MHA is the Executive Director of Perioperative Services at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV. Mrs. Brooks began her career in Perioperative Services over 19 years ago and started as a Surgical Technologist, became a Registered Nurse that worked in the Operating Room, and has had steady progress up the Perioperative Services leadership chain over the last 10 years. She is responsible for all departments related to the surgical journey of a patient and promotes collaboration and culture change, strategic development and growth, supports quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practices, and works to mentor and develop her own leaders through her own personal leadership training classes. She received her MHA through the University of Phoenix and is working to acquire her Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives designation.

During her time at Cabell Huntington Hospital, the Institute for minimally invasive care has received the designation of Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery. The Institute for minimally invasive care next steps are to become a Robotic epicenter for their region which provides an exceptional Robotic Residency Program at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University and to provide Robotic and Minimally Invasive capabilities for procedures in all service lines with exceptional patient experience and outstanding quality outcomes.

Chief Surgical Services Officer, ORMC

Sherry Buxton is the Chief Surgical Services Officer for ORMC and the Adult Hospital Group. This includes ORMC Surgery, PACU, Sterile Processing, ACC Surgery, Endoscopy, Intraoperative Neuro Monitoring, Pain Management, and Anesthesia Support Depts. She is responsible for direct operations in each of these areas and has been in this role since 2003. Ms. Buxton has been part of the ORMC family since 1979 where she started her career as a new RN on the general surgical unit. Ms. Buxton has been in a leadership role since 1980, functioning in various capacities as an ANM and a Nursing Operations Manage for multiple units. Ms. Buxton graduated with a BSN from East Tennessee State University and received her Master’s in Business Administration from University of Phoenix in 2000. She is a member of the Florida Organization of Nurse Executives and a member of Sigma Theta Epsilon.

Matt Carroll, Sr. Director Market Access and Custom Analytics at Intuitive, has more than 16 years of evidence-based selling experience, working with key industry stakeholders and economic decision makers across the country. Prior to joining Intuitive, Mr. Carrol served as Director of Market Access at Baxter Healthcare’s Surgical Care Division working directly with regional and national IDN systems, Value Analysis Committees, Health Technology Assessment Committees, payers and policymakers to help breakdown market and patient access barriers.

Outside his professional career, Mr. Carroll proudly served his country in the United States Marines for 8 years, 4 years of which he served as a Squad Leader.

Medical Director & Robotics Program Surgeon Champion, TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital, Cincinnati, OH

Mark Delworth, MD is the Director of Robotics at Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio and was recently promoted to System Chief of Surgery for TriHealth. Since incorporating da Vinci into his practice in 2004, he has completed over 2000 procedures.

Dr. Delworth graduated from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in 1988 and received his surgical and urology training at the University of Kentucky. He subsequently completed a Fellowship in Urologic Oncology from the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

John Dougherty

Sr. Director, Global Genesis Programs, Intuitive

John Dougherty, Sr. Director of Global Genesis Programs, joined Intuitive in July of 2007 from Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia, PA, where he spent several years as the primary first assistant for da Vinci surgery. Since joining Intuitive, Mr. Dougherty has held several roles within the Customer Training, Product Education and Professional Services department, where he is currently responsible for all Genesis Program activities around the world. 

As a proud member of the Genesis team, Mr. Dougherty strives to help hospitals optimize quality, cost, and care by analyzing individual da Vinci programs and introducing best practices to help drive programmatic success.

Jennifer Espinal

Genesis Training Manager, Intuitive

Jennifer Espinal is a Genesis Training Manager at Intuitive. She joined the Intuitive team in October 2010 following her active-duty service in the United States Navy as a Service Warfare Officer with a concentration in Engineering. Upon joining Intuitive, Ms. Espinal assisted with the opening of the Hartford Hospital Lab, training more than 215 da Vinci users. In 2012, she transitioned to the Genesis team and has shared her expertise with approximately 100 da Vinci Surgery Programs worldwide. Ms. Espinal strives to help hospitals optimize quality, cost, and care through analysis of individual da Vinci programs and the introduction of best practices to help ensure programmatic success.

Terry Loftus, MD

Medical Director & Robotics Program Director, Medical City, Fort Worth, TX

Terry Loftus, MD, joined Medical City Fort Worth in September 2017. Prior to this, he was president of Loftus Health, a healthcare consulting company committed to educating physician leaders on how to successfully implement programs that improve the delivery of healthcare. Previously he was the medical director of surgical services and clinical resources for Banner Health in Phoenix, Arizona, as well as chief medical officer (CMO) of Banner Boswell Medical Center.

Dr. Loftus’ undergrad work and MBA are from Arizona State University and his medical degree is from the University of Arizona. He completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Utah and a trauma surgery and surgical critical care fellowship at the University of Maryland’s R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Loftus is also a graduate of the Advanced Training Program for Executives and Quality Improvement Leaders sponsored by Intermountain Healthcare’s Institute for Healthcare Delivery Research.

Dr. Loftus has served in various leadership roles, including medical director of a Level 1 trauma center and a surgical intensive care unit. He is board certified in general surgery and surgical critical care and is a Fellow in the American College of Surgery. He has authored three books on program development and numerous journal articles on quality improvement.

David Prasad

Service Marketing Manager, Intuitive

David Prasad is the Service Product Marketing Manager at Intuitive and is part of the Services Marketing Department. In this role, Mr. Prasad supports the service organization and the da Vinci Surgery Customer Portal. During his eight-year tenure with Intuitive, he was also part of the Inside Sales Team, selling upgrades directly to Hospitals. Previously, Mr. Prasad held positions at Siemens Medical, Acuson Inc., and General Electric. He has a Bachelor of Science from San Jose State University.

Manager, Sterile Reprocessing Support, Intuitive

Chris Stallings serves as the Manager for Sterile Reprocessing Support Americas for Intuitive Surgical. He has been with Intuitive Surgical for 8 years holding various positions within the service organization. Five years ago, he was tasked with creating and implementing cleaning and sterilization support for our da Vinci customers. The Sterile Reprocessing Support team was formed shortly after with the goal of providing customers exceptional training and education on proper handling and reprocessing of da Vinci instruments, accessories and endoscopes. Since then he has continued to grow his knowledge on device reprocessing, standards and regulations worldwide by continuing to visit and educate customers regularly.
